What's wrong with kaderisasi?
04 September 2024 | Social Issue
Kaderisasi has been extensively discussed and remained as a topic of debate. It is a practice that has been passed down through generations, nevertheless, also carries negative stigmas that makes the term "kaderisasi" taboo to discuss openly. These negative stigmas have led some departments at ITS to oppose kaderisasi, while others continue to support it. Some argue that kaderisasi is important, some don't due to its flawed implementations.
This raises the question: Is kaderisasi still suitable for today's era? Or must a new concept be made that aligns with the current human resources and era?
Some argue that kaderisasi is not suitable because it simply does not align with current norms; restrictive, harsh, and overly emphasizes seniority, making it better to replace with something more needed by today's students. However, the fact remains: ITS has a general guideline or Basic Orientation for Developing Student Resources (HDPSDM) that includes the basis of development, the purpose of development, the pattern of development, and a conclusion in the development of student resources at ITS. With this guideline, a specific pattern of developing student resources is formed, which serves as a general reference for departments in forming kaderisasi that aligns with the existing rules. Departments are defined as development venues where students are entitled to any form of development, serving as a home and solution for their movements.
“Why must members be developed? And how can a good development concept be formed?”
Members of the department must be developed to fulfill the competencies of students, serve as a relay baton to continue the organization, and maintain the kaderisasi. Therefore, departments should identify the organizational and member conditions, adjust the development methods according to the advancements of time.
The pattern of developing student resources should align with the needs of ORMAWA and student needs, thus forming department programs often referred to as kaderisasi.
Kaderisasi is an education, value implantation, and the formation of beneficial thinking patterns for new students and collectives.
